Taxis are also available from outside the airport at all times. If you can’t find a taxi, please call (+47) 07000. The required travel time to the hotel by taxi should be approx. 40 minutes, the cost approx.  NOK 400 – 500.

At the end of the conference, on the Friday, a bus reserved for SK participants will depart after lunch at 14.15 from the hotel to the airport . Price per person: NOK 100.

Upon arrival at Solstrand
When you arrive at Solstrand, please look for the SK desk and our assistant Kari. She will register you and provide a SK name tag. Check in to the rooms is not possible until after 15.00 HRS. There is a room nearby the reception for coats and luggage. Lunch starts at 12 in the main dining hall.

Boat trip to airport
Also, a more scenic route is available by taking the shuttle boat from Os to the Flesland pier (Flesland kai). The boat staff will arrange for mini-bus transport from the pier to Bergen Airport. The boat trip takes approx. 40 min. We will register using a transport list at the conference, please state wether you are interested in taking the bus or boat.

Group discussions

The cases are presented by some of the group members – experienced researchers as well as newcomers to the field. The delegates are attached to small discussion groups with whom they work intensively over a three-day period, thereby enhancing the discussions to progress during the presentations.

Participants will receive detailed program on arrival including name list and feedback forms.

Dinner dress code
Since the conference is a gathering of both academics and artists, this is reflected in the way participants dress for dinner. You’ll find the formal dinner jacket and shirt, but also smart casual wear. It’s sort of  informal but nice.

Climate
The Norwegian climate can be unpredictable. Os is located on the west coast and the weather in September can vary from sunshine and a nice 14 – 18 degrees Celsius to rain, hard winds and 5 – 10 degree Celsius. For outdoor activities, bring a raincoat and medium sweater. Good footwear is also recommended.

Update 21 September: the weather forecast is not particulary good, with rain showers and 8 – 10 degrees celcius. This could change on the thursday with chances for some glimpses of the sun, but the weather is unstable.
