Lighting from the Side: Rhetoric and Artistic Research

Art practices are interrelated with verbal language in different ways – both in the creation of art, in the art itself, in the reception of art, and in the guiding of art-research. The aim of this key-note is to explore these relationships from a rhetorical point of view by presenting, demonstrating and discussing how verbalization in different ways both strengthen and diminish artistic research. To be more specific the reflections will be developed around two presentations af artistic research – by Amanda Steggell and Hans Hamid Rasmussen – both artists and holders of artistic R&D grants.
